Lauren is a Principal at Sozo Ventures, where she leads the investment operations, focusing on scaling Sozo’s pipeline to ensure the firm has the right information, with the right people, at the right time. Before joining Sozo Ventures, Lauren interned with Fitbit as a supply and demand manager. After that, she worked for five years as an Operations Rotation Engineer at Western Digital, where her roles spanned the flash supply chain. She also managed inventory for more than 10 OEM customers and delivered strategic insights for flash product technology transitions. Lauren received a Master’s in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Prior to that, she graduated from California Polytechnic University, Pomona with a BS in Mathematics.
Moustafa ElBialy joined Kleiner Perkins in 2018 and serves as Chief Information Officer. As the leader of the firm’s technology efforts, he provides strategic and operational impact, including the deployment and management of data tools and AI, data science, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other software solutions that drive business outcomes for Kleiner Perkins.Previously, Moustafa was the director of technology at Social Capital. Prior to Social Capital, he spent eight years at Sequoia Capital where he served as technology services manager. Moustafa received his B.S.C.S. degree in Information Technology from Cairo University, Egypt. He’s also an active board member for VCPEIT, a non-profit community produced by and for forward-thinking Technology executives, CIOs, CTOs and key decision makers from private equity, venture capital, and leveraged buyout firms.
Jolynn is Kapor Capital’s Chief of Staff. She is passionate about creating generational wealth for underserved communities and fostering an ecosystem of diverse investors, emerging fund managers and startup founders. An entrepreneur herself, Jolynn started her own record label at age 20 and built a career in music business, recruitment and public relations. She holds a BA in Development Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, with a minor in Education. Previous to Kapor Capital, Jolynn was the Director of LatinSF- the economic development arm of the city of San Francisco focused on investment between the Latin American region and the city. Under her tenure, Jolynn secured $25.5 Million in investment, generated 350+ jobs and advised over 100 Latino/Latin American startup founders in venture fundraising, go-to-market strategy and US market intelligence.
As MassMutual Ventures’ (MMV) Head of Platform, Samantha is focused on institutionalizing the effort to leverage MMV’s network on behalf of our portfolio companies, connecting them to potential partners and customers. Before MassMutual Ventures, Samantha led growth and product at macro-eyes, a Gates Foundation-backed startup commercializing patient outcome models to improve hospital utilization. Prior to macro-eyes, Samantha started her career at Point72 where she built the compliance oversight platform for their fundamental research arm and then moved into building innovative investment products utilizing alternative data. She grew up in Long Island, New York, and received her BA at Wesleyan University.
